We, the people of St. Vincent Martyr Parish, are a Christian community in the tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.
We dedicate our lives to continue the commission given to us by Jesus Christ:
Go,
therefore, and make disciples
of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and
of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have
commanded you.
And remember, I am with you always, to the end of
the age. (Matthew
28:19-20)
We are a community of believers who welcome all people and come together as Christ's disciples to:
remember Jesus Christ and to know His presence in the Spirit by giving thanks and praise in the rituals of our worship and in the just actions of our daily lives;
teach the Word of God through its proclamation in liturgy, its reflection in Christian education and formation, and its living out in social justice;
baptize all who seek to die and rise again in Christ and initiate them into the new life of Christ;
go forth to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in all we say and do.
Go Forth to Preach... The Christian Formation programs at St. Vincent Martyr are committed to assisting all parents in the faith formation of their children through worship, word and service. We, the staff, along with trained volunteer catechists, in accordance with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the Bishop's document, Sharing the Light of Faith, provide programs to fit the needs of families passing on the traditions of the Catholic faith. An actively involved member of the St. Vincent Martyr Christian Formation program is one who is officially registered in the parish and Christian Formation programs, attends Saturday/Sunday liturgy regularly as a family, volunteers one's time and energy to the parish community and Christian Formation programs, contributes financial support to the parish according to what your financial means allow, and attends parent meetings (September opening meeting, sacramental meetings, and others as requested).
